The sunrises can be breathtaking in the living room, it's so worth waking up early for it!

In the evenings the Eiffel Tower also has an enjoyable hourly blinking display.

We have installed electric shutters, the switches are next to the light switches.

The windows can be opened, if you do so, please mind the shutters, as they can be blown by the wind.

Please make sure to close the windows when unattended as rain can enter the flat.

The building does not have facilities for centralized air conditioning, so we suggest a few ways to go through the hot and sunny days:

• Draw blinds and curtains shut until about 1 PM when the sun goes away.
• Open at least the kitchen and study/bureau windows to allow breeze.
• Use the several fans and humidifiers provided in each room.
• Refer to the Appliance instructions to operate the stand-alone Aircon.
• Close the blinds in the morning to limit heat.
• If the flat gets too hot, consider visiting the nearby air-conditioned Beaugrenelle mall or taking a walk by the river under the shade.

The building has 24/7 security & safety officers, chances are high that disturbances will not pass unnoticed.

You can enjoy the place but we don't allow parties and loud noises. Please be considerate of our neighbors.

If you go through the concierge/security (guardian in French), who will always be there on the 2nd floor, you might be questioned on your stay.

You have every legal right to rent our apartment, we own the flat and we only rent it out on the few days we're away for vacation so it doesn't sit empty.

The Guardian/concierge is just doing their jobs of maintaining security as well as trying to counter the ones who are trying to make Airbnb into a full-time business rental, best to not go through them.

They are push-system drawers that can be easily activated when you touch them. It can be quite a challenge to close them for the uninitiated, especially for the drawers that are quite full and heavy. The trick is to do a quick but firm push to close it.

Most of the push system is located at the bottom of the drawers. Cupboard doors that are within reaching distance don't have a push system on them so they can simply be opened and closed like regular doors.

Kitchen light switches are all grouped together along with the living room. Special party lights are controlled individually and connected to extension wires near the column where there are plants.

You can leave the trash and we will take care of it after you leave. Otherwise, the trash chute (beside the oven, in the kitchen) is working and can accommodate small trash bags.

If needed, big trash bags can be thrown at level RdC (Rez-de-Chaussée, level 0). You will need the key-badge to access the area and go to Local 8, where the trash is to be thrown.

We want to help the environment as well as educate our kids about it as much as possible, so in our household we reduce, recycle and reuse a lot. We try to make stuff and do stuff ourselves so that we don't have to buy new things so much.

We recycle trash and we reuse plastics so we have a lot of used plastics stashed in our pantry including washed zip locks. We also try not using them as much as possible and limiting new ones.

In this spirit we involve our kids by recycling and reusing things to play with, including what would otherwise mean as trash like toilet roll papers, boxes and used papers in general (you might encounter some of our kids hidden treasures in our furniture).

We try to avoid using disposable plastic cutlery and glasses and tissues (unless really necessary) and use wipes instead (there's a stock by the dining table and pantry).

In the kitchen, we try to use less chemicals and packaging and make ourselves some cleaning products (but we keep standard cleaning products for guests). We try not to consume too much also when it comes to electricity so we are happy users of tumble dry.

In our apartment clothes dry surprisingly well with our centralized ventilation. We also have the general building heating system, and do not have additional air conditioning for the sole purpose of going through the max 2–3 hot weeks of summer.

We do have several fans and humidifiers. Finally, we have just installed one small Aircon unit to improve your comfort in case of a heatwave. Though the key to limiting the heat is to close the blinds in the morning when the sun strikes the flat.

We scoot, blade, skate or bike, and we hitch our kids to a trailer. As most Parisians, we don't own a car. We understand that as our guests, some things in the flat might look weird, but we hope that will not be too much of an inconvenience and that you understand our lifestyle choice, if not resonate with it.

River Cruises: Cruises on the River Seine, some of which dock near our place for at least half a year.

Promenades: For promenades, you have come to the perfect place as we are right along the River Seine, giving you a host of options:

1. Riverbank: A simple crossing of the road will leave you right at the riverbank.
2. Promenade Khalil Gibran: Just 3 minutes from our place, it offers a great vantage point for taking photos with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop.
3. Bir Hakeim Bridge: Only 5 minutes away, it is one of the most photographed bridges in the world.
4. Île aux Cygnes: From the bridge, enjoy a pleasant walk to the middle of the bridge where you can go down to L'Île aux Cygnes, home to a smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty.
5. Beaugrenelle & the Dalle: Exit the 2nd level of the building to access the grounds connecting all the Towers of Beaugrenelle, including its renowned shopping center.

The flat is next to several transportation lines:

• Metro Line 6: Closest station: Bir Hakeim. Direct access to Champs-Élysées and Montparnasse.
• RER C: Station: Champs de Mars. Direct access to Saint Michel Notre-Dame and Versailles.
• Metro Line 10: Nearest station: Charles Michel.
• Batobus (Boat): Travel along the Seine, with a stop just after the Eiffel Tower.

You will need the remote control to switch the system on. We normally keep the remote on the glass shelf on top of the kitchen island, towards the end beside the dining table.

Connecting via Bluetooth:
Press the Bluetooth button to switch the system to Bluetooth mode. Press the Pair button. On your phone or device, connect via Bluetooth to: spectrum x5.

There is no TV in the apartment. We hope you'll enjoy everything Paris has to offer during your stay. For indoor entertainment we provide board games and a projector in the living room.

Electrical outlets are scattered throughout the apartment. In the living room and kitchen, outlets are discreetly hidden underneath the window rail. There are also several extension cords throughout the apartment. If you need additional ones, extra extension cords can be found in the bottom drawer on the left-hand side, facing the bed in the Red Room.

Checking the Water:
Check the side of the humidifier to see if there is still water inside.

Refilling:
To add water, push to open the top front cover. Carefully remove the filter system together with the attached water container. Carefully detach the filter from the water container. Fill the container with water. We recommend bringing a bottle of water to the humidifier instead of carrying the humidifier to the water source. Do not fill it completely to the top, as there needs to be enough room to reinstall the filter. Finally, reassemble everything exactly the same way.

The dishwasher has a built-in detergent tank. Because of this, you do not need to add detergent (this feature is called AutoDOS).

How to start:
Press the left button to turn the dishwasher on. Check that the AutoDOS light is on. If it is not, press the AutoDOS button. Press the OK button on the right. The program will start and display the remaining time. Close the door. The dishwasher will begin automatically.

Recommended programs:
Eco, Quotidien (Daily), Express (when in a hurry).

Detergent:
Place the detergent in the top-left drawer, inside the left compartment.

We recently added this portable Aircon unit to improve your comfort. Please note that it is not powerful enough to cool the entire apartment.

Important:
The main button to use is Mode. Set it to Auto or Cooling.
